PROJECT OVERVIEW

Casa della Pietra is a visual identity project developed for a masonry studio rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and durability. The aim was to create a brand presence that reflects the timeless quality of stonework while positioning the business in a more refined and contemporary way.

Instead of relying on familiar construction-industry visuals, the project focused on building an identity that feels more distinctive, thoughtful, and lasting. The final system was designed to work across both physical and digital touchpoints, creating a consistent brand experience from print materials to online presence.

CHALLENGE

The challenge was to create an identity that communicates strength and reliability without feeling generic or visually heavy. Because the business is closely tied to stone, architecture, and manual craft, the visual language needed to suggest heritage and material quality, but in a way that still felt modern and relevant.

Another important part of the challenge was flexibility. The identity had to function clearly across a range of applications, including business cards, stationery, branded apparel, and a landing page, while maintaining a unified visual character throughout.

CONCEPT

The concept was built around the idea of translating masonry and architectural heritage into a cleaner, more contemporary visual language. A key reference point came from the form of a rose window — a historical architectural element reinterpreted here as a geometric symbol.

This approach created a balance between tradition and modernity. The project draws from historical forms and decorative structure, but simplifies them into a restrained and professional identity system. The goal was not to create something ornamental for its own sake, but to build a symbol with meaning, structure, and long-term visual relevance.

VISUAL IDENTITY SYSTEM

At the center of the identity is a stylized rose-window motif, developed into a clean and recognizable symbol. Its geometry reflects balance, structure, and craftsmanship, while giving the brand a distinctive visual element that can stand on its own or support the wider system.

The overall identity is intentionally restrained. Rather than relying on excessive detail, it uses a more refined visual language to communicate quality and confidence. Typography and composition were chosen to support this tone, helping the brand feel professional, premium, and timeless.

Together, these elements create a flexible identity system that can adapt across different formats while remaining cohesive and recognisable.

APPLICATIONS

The identity was extended across a range of branded materials to create a consistent and practical system. These applications included business cards, stationery, branded T-shirts and hoodies, and a landing page design.

Each touchpoint was approached as part of the same visual language. The aim was to ensure that the identity remained coherent whether it appeared in print, on apparel, or in a digital setting. This consistency helps strengthen the brand and makes it feel more established and intentional.

REFLECTION

This project was an exploration of how traditional visual references can be translated into a modern identity system. It reinforced the value of building concepts from meaningful source material and shaping them into something clear, functional, and visually relevant.

It also highlighted how simplicity can often communicate quality more effectively than excess, especially in industries where trust, precision, and craftsmanship matter.
